Jackson County is home to Florida Caverns State Park, the only air-filled walking cave tours in Florida. Experience the unique formations of limestone stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, flowstones and draperies! The 45 minute tour is a wonder to experience.

The scenic Chipola River winds through the park. Bring your own canoe or kayak or rent one from the park and enjoy this beautiful and wild Florida river! Fish off the banks, enjoy the stunning natural scenery along a winding system or nature trails and learn the fascinating history of the Natural Bridge of the Chipola River.

Spanish explorers crossed this unique formation during the 1600’s and it is one of 11 stops on the brand new Jackson County Spanish Heritage Trail!

Major General Andrew Jackson and his army of 1,092 men also crossed the Natural Bridge during the First Seminole War and it was later used by early settlers and later Confederate soldiers.

Florida Caverns State Park has 35 campsites with electric and water hookups available for RV and tent camping. Three sites are RV/Trailer only and three sites are tent-only. Stables are available for visitors who bring their horses and the park features equestrian as well as hiking trails! Pets are welcome.

Cave tours are available 9am – 4pm Thursday-Monday (closed Tuesday & Wednesday) and take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The tour is considered to be moderately strenuous due to narrow and shallow passages.Group reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

Tour sizes are limited to 25 people per tour. Reservations are available for groups of 25 or more with a pre-paid reservation. All tours on weekends are first-come, first-served, and are at regular admission prices. Park entrance fee charged, with an additional cave tour fee of $5 (ages 3-12), $8 (ages 13 and up).
