Known far and wide for its unique name, Two Egg is one of Florida’s most beloved communities. The name originated during the hard times of the Great Depression when people from the surrounding farms traded goods such as eggs and other foodstuffs for what they needed from the Bevis Store. For many years Two Egg was home to two competing general stores, but both closed long ago and only one still stands today. The mysterious “Two Egg Stump Jumper” – a strange mini-Bigfoot creature – is said to haunt the swamps and woods several miles east of the community.
