This interpretive kiosk at Heritage Village is a stop on the Jackson County Spanish Heritage Trail. It tells the story of the revolt against Spanish missionaries by Chacato (Chatot) Indians in 1675. Led by the chief Dioscale, who became angry after priests told him he could not keep all of his multiple wives, Chacato warriors rose up against the Spanish and drove them from what is now Jackson County. The kiosk tells the story of this revolt and the consequences it brought down on the Chacato (Chatot) people.
